ABOUT

This is not just a 5km; it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty that defines North Gower, whether you choose to race, run, jog, or hike. Taking place on Sunday, the 5km trail race is a perfect way to close off your running experience at Love Trails Festival, taking in one last scenic wander on the final day of what has hopefully been a magical weekend.

Waving goodbye to the festival village, the route starts along the Wales Coast Path, with views of wild ponies scattered across the salt marshes, before entering the quintessentially Welsh villages. You’ll then endure a short climb up onto the sweeping trail above the festival site, before descending back down, finishing amongst the full festival experience, returning to a lovingly made wooden medal, designed and made right here in the Gower Peninsula.

This route is fully marked with directional signage, so there’s no need to navigate, just follow the signs! There are no aid stations on this route, so pack snacks, water, and enjoy the journey!

Heading straight out of the festival site on Saturday morning, the route travels across compact dusty trails (with a bit of mud!) over the wild expanse of Cefn Bryn, dropping down to the peaceful village of Reynoldston, beaming with Welsh charm. Here, you can expect a well stocked aid station, brimming with mid-run snacks and hydration, and your halfway marker before the descent down past Arthur’s Stone, returning to the vibrant buzz of our festival site. With varied terrain and endless views, you can expect a tasty blend of uphill excitement and downhill exhilaration, all in equal measure!

As with all our trail races, you’ll start and finish amidst the vibrant energy of the festival site, with a whole programme of live music and post-run celebrations to follow. ABOUT

Get ready for a running adventure that goes far beyond the ordinary half marathon, not just in distance, but in breathtaking scenery, complete with a zesty amount of elevation! This race is part of the Salomon Golden Trail Series, a national series of trail running races that aims to bring together the strongest and most ambitious runners of off-road racing into a single national "super circuit". The Golden Trail Series exists to celebrate and grow the sport of trail running, respecting unique values like parity, equity, transparency, and honesty.

Runners will start and finish at the Love Trails Festival site, with high energy music (and the crowds to match). The route unfolds by summiting Llanmadoc Hill with breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across the peninsula. From here, runners will head towards the famous Worms Head, traversing Rhossili Downs where the terrain opens up into expansive grassy plains dotted with wildflowers. With well-defined trails and views of vast golden beaches, this route takes in the absolute best of the Gower Peninsula. Runners can expect two fantastically stocked aid stations on this route keeping that morale and energy level sky high at roughly 10km and 15km. This is a fully marked and supported route.

The Golden Trail National Series 2024 comprises of six races across England, Wales and The Netherlands. The top two men and women in the overall ranking, along with the first place U23 male and female, will receive tickets for the GTNS Grand Finals, where they will measure themselves against the world's best athletes.

Love Trails Festival will be the athletes' last chance to compete for an invite to the National Final, so be sure to have competed in one of the previous rounds to secure your chance to be invited to the final in September.

Compete against hundreds of worthy opponents in the Beer Mile Relay World Championships, taking place on Saturday afternoon at Love Trails 2024.

Teams of four go head-to-head to see who can down a beer the quickest and complete a mile.

One person from each team drinks a can of beer, and then runs 400m, then the next person goes, in a relay format. The first team to complete the mile wins. Sounds easy, right? It’s really not.

On the other hand, if you think you can chug 4 beers and do the entire mile by yourself, heat 6 is a solo heat, so fill your boots!
